HOW OUR PIOUS PREDECESSORS USED TO APPROACH THE MONTH OF RAMADHAN(Dr. Isa Ali Pantami)

Our Pious predecessors (May Allah
be pleased with them) used to
prepare very well while
approaching the Month of
RAMADHAN. They had been
partaking in good actions prior to
the arrival of this prestigious
visitor-RAMADHAN. Similarly, I will
encourage all Muslims to emulate
the following essential deeds from
our pious predecessors before the
RAMADHAN arrives:
1) REPENTANCE: We should all
repent to Allah from our previous
evil deeds. Repentance is very
essential so that we can start the
fasting as pious Muslims. The
Prophet (SAW) used to repent and
seek Allah’s forgiveness, everyday
100 times.
2) SUPPLICATION: Our Pious
Predecessors used to pray to Allah
to catapult their lives to witness
the Month of RAMADHAN with
faith.
3) RECITATION OF THE QUR’AN:
This has been the tradition of the
Salaf as transmitted by Imam
Abubakar Albakhaliy (RH). He
emphasised that the Salaf partook
in recitation of the Quran in
Sha’aban as the preparation of its
intense recitation in the month of
Ramadhan.
4) VOLUNTARY FASTING IN
SHA’ABAN: the Prophet (SAW) and
his beloved companions (RA) used
to fast in Sha’aban voluntarily
more than their fasting in any
month beside Ramadhan.
5) PARDONING OTHERS: Bn
Mas’ud (RA) stated that the
companions of the Prophet used to
forgive those who wronged them
and purified their hearts from envy
and show-off, all in preparation of
Ramadhan Fasting.
These are very essential lessons
for those who care to read and
implement.
May Allah forgive us and catapult
our lives to welcome our noble and
glorious visitor- Ramadhan,..
